I have a mild mental disability due to congenital hydrocephalus and I was wondering what gifted and talented means for a person with a disability?
Gifted is having an unusual ability in one thing and talented is having an unusual ability in more than one, or it could be vice versa. At least that is what they say where I am from.
I started this forum as I have giftedness and learning disorders at the one time. I have been compared to Rain Man and have also been assessed as having "two different mental ages" and two very different IQs (52 points apart).
I didn't really need the assessment as I know there are certain things I do well and don't do well. For example I am very good at calculations but need very basic help in geometry. This is due to the damage from hydrocephalus.
